Daniel Elms’ new album reveals the composer at his most vulnerable, presenting deeply personal compositions that reflect moments from childhood to revelations in adulthood. The composer’s upcoming album release presents three works, underpinned by introspection and personal discovery.

The three deeply personal works on this album map the diagnosis and subsequent reckoning that Elms has experienced with his mental health. Two powerful works of the collection, The Age of Spiritual Machines and Consolations in Travel, were composed as a direct response to Elms’ diagnosis of anxiety-depression and his journey in reconciling the cognitive barriers and cyclical patterns of thought and memory that he has put in place as a result of these illnesses.
